Scotty from Scotland and a New Adventure.

I wish the entire world could know Scotty from Scotland. Turns out, most of them do. Scotty finds out I moved to Italy and hooks me up with some mormon friends of his that live here. So day 3 of being in Italy and I'm already going out on my own little excursion. I knew it would be interesting, knowing that I don't know any Italian and most Italians claim they speak fluent English but clearly don't. So I start practicing ALL day....."Comé ti chiami? Comé ti chiami? Mi chiamo Stacey, piacere." I was getting good. Im pretty sure our house keeper thought I lost my mind.

My friend Jonathan was introduced to me through Scotty. Jonathan lives on the opposite side of Rome as I, so he kindly arranges a ride for me with his friend Davide. I have to admit I was pretty nervous getting into the car. I mean, I trusted Scotty's judgement, i was more nervous about the communication part.

When I got in the car it was packed full of Italian boys. And just so you know, yes I asked what their names were and yes, I completely butchered it! I froze in mid sentence "Comé ti ch.....chi......." But thank goodness there was one other girl in the car and she was the only one who could speak English, that poor thing was everyone's translator. But surprisingly those boys dove right in, they made me feel right at home and loved me right off the bat. Rome really is the world's capital of love, everyone was incredibly nice.

We went and got some Italian pizza, arm wrestled (explanation: after the boys were done talking about muscles, i decided to one up them by showing mine off, they couldn't have that) and after my cute translator left the boys took me on a tour around Rome, even though it's the coldest time of year for them (which is like spring time for you Utahns). They were all the sweetest things! I thought Italian boys were just full of charms and gushie meaningless words but these guys were talking to me one after the other, sincerely getting to know me, and me them. It ended up being the best night so far.

Que Es Esto?

Yes. That is spanish you just read. Considering my being in Italy, this whole spanish thing has to stop, although I started to get pretty good at it, might I say so myself. My question- What Is This?

I left America to discover the European ways of life. And the first thing I am served for dinner is from a  pig leg. Just sitting in the kitchen. Practically staring at me... without its eyes, even. So I'm sitting there at the dinner table with these strange but beautiful Italian words being thrown around and the occasional choppy English question hardly to be understood by an attractive, yet older, Italian friend of the family. I kept thinking, "what is happening to me right now? What IS this?" Just smile and nod, Stace.......smile and nod.

She Married Him.

This picture about sums it up. On my way to Italy I made a stop in Canada to visit the world of the new Regimbals. And let me tell you.....usually when a best friend gets married she is never to be heard from again. But. I have news. When MYYYYY best friend gets married, it only gets better. Minus the moving to another country part.

Everything we did before, we did again. Of course the usual laziness of being friends...facebook stalking....movie watching and the occasional slap in the face, but I'm even including making weird ass videos of ourselves and talking to each other through the shower curtain. Only this time it was so much better considering we had a PERSONAL CHEF. When Britt and I got home from the Body Bar, just exhausted, we were already being waited on by Kyle and his delicious breakfast making skills. Fact: this happened like....every meal. I started to feel bad, so I offered to help. Response, "Oh no no, we can sit while he cooks. This is how it works." So we sat.....talked....laughed.....skyped Scotty.....ate M&M's..... Sadly, I think Kyle understands that Britt and I are pretty terrible in the kitchen most of the time......only imagine joining our terribleness. Recipie for disaster.

So thanks to my best friends wonderful husband I now have hope that someday I will wed and he will cook.
